The highest and poorest zones of our vineyard La Mendañona, with Mencía variety, produces this signature wine of which approximately 1.200 bottles are made in years when the harvest quality allows.
Cold prefermentative maceration that could span up to 4 days of time, after that the wine performs the alcoholic fermentation and further maceration with the grape skins that might take up to 20 days time. After 18 months of aging in french oak barriques in different sizes, we proceed to the bottling of the wine.
High cap, cherry red color.
Clear in the nose, this wine projects all of its elegance with red and black fruits tones, spices and gentle floral touches, balsamics and a highlighted mineral character, reflecting the terroir.
Broad, voluminous and very balanced in mouth. Tannin feels silk like and the acidity keeps the tension and balance needed to achieve a wine with greath length, trailing and persistency. Again the strong mineral trait stands out, reflecting the personality and origin of this wine, and brings back the black fruits, violets and balsamic notes to memory.
